In 1628 A. D., the Zhang Clan moved to Hangzhou where they created exquisite scissors with ancestral craftsmanship and fine steel from Longquan. During the reign of Emperor Guang Xu, “Zhang Xiaoquan” was authorized to be a registered trademark for its superior quality. In the period of the Republic of China, it was awarded a Panama World Fair prize, hence was known by the world. Today, “Zhang Xiaoquan” craftsmanship has been listed as a national intangible cultural heritage. With its skilled craft of manual forging and engraving, “Zhang Xiaoquan” was well received by consumers.
